Tour through the Museum Altes Zeughaus and its unique collection
The Altes Zeughaus museum building has shaped the face of the city since the 17th century.
Once the place where the weapons of the citizens of Solothurn were kept and a symbol of the town’s defensive spirit, the building has been used purely as a museum since 1907.
In addition to the extensive collection of cutting, stabbing and firearms, the largest collection of armor in Switzerland is also on display. Unique pieces from the Brugunderbeute and the “Tagsatzung zu Stans” figure group round off the impressive exhibition.
